Nitro Team Exposure Gullwing
This weeks infocus article takes a look at the Team Exposure Gullwing board, as a directional twin and featuring the Gullwing rocker, the Team is one of our go to boards in the range for all mountain ridability. But what makes the Exposure special is the artwork and images on the top sheet. Featuring some great photographers, the Exposure would look as good in a Gallery as it does under your feet!
What is your name and how would you describe your photography
My name is Carlos Blanchard, I´m a photographer coming out of Spain, but based and living since a few years in Innsbruck, Austria.
- How have you gotten into snowboarding photography, why is it so special to you?
It´s actually photography that came to me before snowboarding, but at the beginning i took more time or attention to the sport than to the photos, although once I got an old 35 mm camera from my dad I automatically started shooting and documenting the sport I was doing and liking so much. Then all started to move on to the direction I believed was there for me to follow, and the story of those past ten years or more began, being this the greatest experience of them all so far.
- Tells us a little about the photos on your Nitro X Team Exposure board that you submitted?
This four images belong to themselves (all four alone) as much as they do to the others, I mean, I look at them, and I do think I can refer to each single image as a one, but to all of them as a group, and although they were not taken at same places or same times, now, seeing them transferred to this board, they bring a sense to me that I didn’t see before, maybe is just the fact of purely having my images, the photography I started with, on a snowboard? The sport and lifestyle that brought me to this point. I guess that is surely an important connection that comes to my mind when I look at the Nitro Team Exposure Board.
- Which photo on the board is your personal favourite?
The one up front, seems to be breaking the way through the times ahead, while the other three make me think of the constant movement, excitements and experiences lived along the way.
- Where are you right now and what are you shooting?
Currently based in Innsbruck, Austria, I´m working mostly in a lot of different things and projects that constantly surface in front of me and that take my attention, all in all, it´s a matter of following my instinct and keep portraying and documenting every thing that picks my interest.
